Context
Tyche is our own random number app. You set a range and it draws a number, draws several one at a time, or pairs them up. It is handy for a giveaway, for splitting people into teams or for when you cannot make up your mind.
We built it from scratch: the logo, the interface design and the iOS and Android app, released on the App Store and Google Play.
What we set out to do
The app does one thing, so what mattered most was the path to the result: short, and clear from the first use.
- A mark that is still recognisable as a small app icon on the phone’s home screen.
- Screens where you set the range and draw numbers without reading instructions.
- The same look on the phone and in the web version, despite the different screens.
What we built
The logo: a letter “y” inside a ring of overlapping colours.
The UI/UX design: the screens of the mobile app and of the web version (choosing the game, setting the number range, the draw and the pairing), in the same visual language as the logo.
The app, built in Flutter for iOS and Android: a random number from any range, draws revealed one at a time, and pairing. It has no ads, needs no account and works fully offline.
How we worked
We drew the components once and used them on every screen, on the phone and on the web. The web version did not need a redesign: it uses the same elements, laid out for a wider screen with the menu along the top.
Result
- The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
- The web version is at tyche.ro.
