Context
La Hambar is a fine dining restaurant serving modern Romanian cuisine, in the forest of the Singureni Manor estate, beside the horse stables. In 2022 we made the restaurant’s website, in Romanian and in English.
Perfectly imperfect
La Hambar’s chef says on the site that he does not follow the rules. We designed the site on the same idea and chose a “perfectly imperfect” aesthetic: plenty of white space, detail photographs, little text.
The cooking, the atmosphere and the farm are shown in photographs, and booking a table is close at hand.
What we built
A site in Romanian and in English, with seven pages: the homepage, About us, Experience, Our farm, Menu, Stay with us and Contact. The homepage has a section on the chef. The “Reserve a table” button leads to the restaurant’s booking system, and the contact page has a form for groups of more than eight.
Photographs of dishes and ingredients take up most of the pages, and the texts are short.
After launch
We have maintained the site since June 2023: technical and content updates, on request.
Result
A site that feels like the restaurant: unconventional, airy, led by photography. It is in Romanian and English, and booking a table is one click from the homepage.
