Our first stand. Internet & Mobile World 2018.

On 3 and 4 October 2018 we were, for the first time, an exhibitor at Internet & Mobile World in Bucharest. Until then we had only attended events as visitors. This year we had a stand of our own, with our name on it.

Where we were

IMWorld is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to digital and IT services for business. The seventh edition had 7 stages, 130 sessions, 146 speakers and over 9,000 professionals across two days, in Romexpo’s B1 pavilion.

Our stand was 8 square metres, close to the entrance, in the area dedicated to security. The organisers proposed the spot after seeing what we were bringing, and it was a good call: people walking in passed us first.

What we brought

Three things, in the order we presented them to visitors:

  • Custom software development and graphic design. Web applications, mobile applications, online shops and graphic materials, for companies that need a partner who understands both the technical and the visual side.
  • Security testing. Penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and risk analysis for websites and web applications, using industry-standard tools. A service few visitors expected to find at a development company.
  • bkit, our own app. We launched a mobile app for business contacts at the stand: business cards stay in your phone, not in a drawer. Call, message, e-mail in a few taps. It was the first product of our own we showed publicly.

What we learned

A small, well-placed stand is worth more than a large one at the back. The conversations at the stand were not about technologies but about concrete problems: an online shop losing orders, a company that wanted an app for its field team, a manager who did not know whether his website was secure. Exactly the things we solve.

And a practical detail: two people at the stand, at all times. The organisers recommended it from the start, and they were right.

What’s next

The conversations started at Romexpo continue over the coming weeks. If you visited our stand and want to pick up where we left off, write to us. If you didn’t, tell us how your project should work. We build the rest.
