2021 was the year of bolder color combinations, primarily due to the challenges we all faced together. We long for a new beginning that will bring security, peace, brilliance and good mood to our homes. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the shades of 2022 will continue to reflect the need for the interiors to emanate peace, comfort and joy at the same time.

For the first time in the history of the program Pantone Color of the Year, a new color was created, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, inspired by the flower called lavender. This shade symbolizes power and encourages creativity and ingenuity.

Pantone created four color palettes featuring PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri that conveys different moods to help designers to bring this shade into their designs.

Based on the Pantone palettes Amazing Soft’s designers recommend the following combinations:

“Very Peri” is a dynamic shade of periwinkle blue with a hint of purple red that combines the fidelity and consistency associated with blue with the energy and enthusiasm of red. The Pantone Institute of Color describes it as “the warmest and most cheerful of all shades of blue, introduces a mixture of novelty, encourages inventiveness and creativity.

The color of 2022 aims to foreshadow the future in a new light:

As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family, encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time with its violet red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute
